August 9th-A Rainy Weekend

Good Morning folks. Heavy rains yesterday have left the Yellowstone Basin in thick fog this morning. Absolutely beautiful! Early morning light cast a pink underbelly on all the low hanging clouds, reflecting in the glass smooth surface of Hebgen Lake. What a way to start the day! The forecast is more of the same afternoon t-storms all weekend. Be aware that this could muddy up the rivers in the Northeast corner of Yellowstone. It usually takes at least a couple of days for the Lamar and Soda Butte to clear. We should have an updated report on the NE corner by tomorrow. Fishing was good yesterday prior to the torrential rain and hurricane winds. Spruce Moths are the order of the day lately, and it wise to have plenty of them in the fly box. it is shaping into one of the best months of August that we have had for a long time. Terrestrials are going to be the major player for the next 4 to 5 weeks! See you on the water!
