What to Bring

Everything you need for a day of fishing, including rod, reel, boots, waders, flies, and end tackle, is included in your package. If you would like to bring your own gear the following is what we recommend for our area:

  • Fly rods (primary rod 9’ 5 or 6 wt – medium/fast action)

    • Secondary rod options 9’ 4 wt – good for smaller tributaries

  • Reels and fly lines (appropriate weight to match rods – floating)

  • Rubber soled wading boots are recommended. Felt boots are not allowed in Yellowstone National Park.

Clothing & items to Consider

Our temperatures vary widely during the seasons and can change in a very short period of time. It is not surprising to see a front push temperatures down 50 degrees in minutes, so we recommend you come prepared. It's all about dressing in layers so you are comfortable throughout the day and changing temperatures.

  • Warm vest or jacket for the cool mornings/evenings

  • Rain jacket

  • Hat

  • Polarized sunglasses

  • Light-weight, long sleeve shirts are suggested for sun protection

  • Quick dry shorts/long pants

  • Comfortable pants or leggings to be worn under waders

  • Sunscreen & Insect repellent (also available in the fly shop for purchase)

  • Bag for carrying personal items

  • Casual attire is acceptable at the ranch for all occasions
